Phew - on the last few pages of The Things We Do For Love, and I'm pretty pleased with the way it's panning out. It's had its humps along the way - what book hasn't? - but in the end it sorted itself out (well, actually, I sorted it out!) and now I'm satisfied that it's a pretty decent first draft. No doubt there'll be plenty of revisions over the next few months but for the moment it's practically done and dusted, and I'm ready for a break. Next up is a trip to Croatia with my pal Mags in July, and maybe a short hop somewhere else in September, if I can get a cheap and cheerful flight to somewhere nice....nothing like a change of scene, even just for a a few days, to recharge the batteries and help you to appreciate home, sweet home!

You heard it first here - new book is officially going to be called The Things We Do For Love. I'm still writing it, but title has been approved, and it's due to hit the shelves in Feb 2011, all going well. Next spring will be busy, with Love in the Making coming out in the US - fingers crossed that it does well over there. Of course I'll have to take a trip to New York, where my US publishers are based, to see it on the shelves - I've never been to the Big Apple, so I figure this is as good a reason as I'll get. Meanwhile I'm off to Listowel at the beginning of June for writer's week, can't wait to revisit my old home town. Hopefully the sun will shine - there's nothing like the buzz of a sunny writer's week!

April 2010: Next book coming along nicely, about two thirds of the way through and going fine. Still mulling over a title, but a few possibilities in the mix. Off to Lanzarote for a week next month so looking forward to sun, sea, sand and NO WRITITNG! (Sorry Ed.) Better bring the laptop though, in case that volcano decides to start up again and leave us all stranded - I could see myself typing away happily in the sunshine! Hope you've all got your holiday plans sorted, even if it's just a hop to the nearest beach or lake, or a trip up a nearby mountain, if you're feeling energetic!

Love in the Making has been at number four for three weeks now - I'm so delighted it's doing so well. I've just finished editing it for the US market and I've also completed a new children's book, tentatively titled Jack and Jupiter, which I'm hoping some nice publisher will like...On to the next adult novel, which is coming along nicely - looks like I might even make my June deadline for the first draft! Life is sweet right now, long may it last!

I'm so thrilled right now; not only has my latest novel, Love in the Making, made it into the bestseller list, it's now at number four, and climbing! My fingers are tightly crossed....I'm working on the American rewrites right now, because it's going to be coming out over there early next year, the first of my novels to make it across the Atlantic. I've also got a new children's book and a new adult novel on the go....busy, busy!
